RE4 is one of the best horror games of all time, so we cannot wait for its release date - March 24th, 2023 when it comes out for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.Loop Hero is the latest rogue-lite to skyrocket in popularity. Between the newer first-person games, Resident Evil 7 Biohazard and Resident Evil 8 Village, and the classic third-person Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 3 Remake, Capcom has clearly been reaching for the moon with the RE Engine. Even though Resident Evil 4 Remake's announcement might have been spoiled by leaks, the first trailer got us plenty excited, and seeing uncut gameplay footage of it in action has us extremely excited. Is it noticeably scarier? Will it be darker than the original? Does it still have funny moments? Did they make any changes? Did the chainsaw guy get new abilities? The answer is yes, but there's so much more to talk about. The Lich fight isn't easy and once you enter the battle, there isn't really anything you can do to improve your chances.Īfter playing through the original Resident Evil 4 dozens of times on everything from GameCube to Meta Quest 2 VR, Brian Altano got to go hands-on with the first 45 minutes of Capcom's highly anticipated next-gen remake of this modern classic of survival-horror action. Make sure to equip any Evade items you have and try to get it up to 30%+ and you should be fine.

You'll want to stack Evasion for this fight so you can completely dodge his attacks and attack no damage. Similarly, Vampirism and and HP Regen won't happen frequently enough to make up for the health you'll lose when The Lich attacks as he can easily knock off a couple hundred HP in a single hit. He attacks fairly infrequently so counters won't be super useful as they will rarely actually occur.

Your "damage to all" items won't help you out here as The Lich fights alone so feel free to scrap those for something better. The Lich deals magic damage, so any items you have that resist that should be equipped. Of course, you can change your items in the middle of the fight, but it is smart to have your set-up ready to go before even starting, just in case one of you gets a hit in before your able to hover over your inventory and pause the fight. These tiles will prevent the Lich's Palaces from spawning.īefore you head into The Lich fight, you'll want to make sure you have the best set-up possible. In order to battle The Lich, you'll need to play until your The Lich progress bar in the top left corner of the screen is completely full.Īlternatively, you can also prevent Lich's Palaces from spawning by laying cards down in the tiles surrounding your camp. The first boss you'll encounter in Loop Hero is The Lich. Of course, the more buildings you establish, the better off you'll be, but don't feel obligated to build everything possible before taking on The Lich. These traits will drastically improve your survivability and damage. These traits can add a number of benefits from improved stats, improved potion usage, additional effects on item effects, and more. Gymnasium: The Gymnasium allows you gain "special traits" throughout your run. Depending on your play style, you might find the Rogue better than the Warrior -especially for taking on The Lich. When you build the Refuge, you'll unlock the Rogue as a playable character. They will occasionally regenerate, giving you a consistent source of health regen.įield Kitchen/Refuge: The Field Kitchen has its benefits but the main thing is that it will unlock the Refuge as a buildable option. These potions will be used automatically after you've taken a lot of damage.
Herbalist Hut: The Herbalist Hut will give you three potions you can take with you on your runs.
